Georgia Gas Prices Drop, Cobb County Slightly Higher

Georgians received some relief at the pump as gasoline prices dropped three cents over the past week, reaching an average of $3.38 for regular unleaded, according to AAA’s weekly report. Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA-The Auto Club Group, attributed the decrease to fluctuating crude oil prices and cautioned that an increase in demand near Memorial Day could cause prices to rise again.

In Cobb County, however, drivers are still paying slightly more, with the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded at $3.446, about seven cents higher than the statewide average. Nationally, the average price fell by two cents to $3.59 per gallon due to weak domestic demand and oil prices remaining below $80 a barrel. As Memorial Day approaches, drivers are advised to comparison shop or use tools like GasBuddy to find the best prices.
