Georgia Unemployment Rate Stays Steady at 3.1 Percent

Recently, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released both national and state unemployment and jobs data from March. According to the national employment situation report, the national unemployment rate dropped from 3.6 percent in February to 3.5 percent in March.

Between February and March the unemployment rate in Georgia stayed steady at 3.1 percent. Additionally, the preliminary data shows that about 10,263 new nonfarm jobs were added across the state. The largest increases in jobs came from the trade, education, health, and government sectors.
